Tasting- Grand Cru

Name: Grand Cru
Variety: Pinot Noir
Year: 2014
Region: Califonria
Country: USA
Price: $5.95

My Review: This was the first red wine that we tasted of the day. The smell reminded me of licorice with hints of berry. The taste did not appeal to me very much as I thought it was very bitter and dry. It also had a peppery after-taste.

Shop Review: "This ruby-colored wine ahs aromas of rasberrym cherry and a hint of vanilla. Flavors of cherry and plum lead to a soft velvety finish. This wine can be enjoyed by itself. It is also an excellent accompaniment with appetizers and main courses. This wine goes well with Brie, goat cheese and smoked salmon, lamb shanks and pork tenderloin.
This wine was tasted with no food.
